Elevated

Alpine Living

A Custom

Mountain Kitchen

Located in a ski village near Vail, Colorado, the Modern Mountain Retreat is a complete luxury home renovation designed to embrace its alpine setting without relying on traditional rustic mountain aesthetics. Instead, our vision was to create a refined, timeless home inspired by the surrounding landscape—one that feels warm, sophisticated, and deeply connected to nature through materiality rather than theme.

The home was completely reimagined with a new floor plan, custom cabinetry, and thoughtfully selected finishes throughout. In the kitchen, a warm stained white oak island is paired with creamy painted perimeter cabinetry in a clean flat-panel profile, creating a balance of modern simplicity and natural warmth. Taj Mahal quartzite countertops, professional-grade appliances, Rocky Mountain Hardware, natural stone, and iron finishes introduce texture and depth while quietly reflecting the rugged beauty of the mountains.

Every material was selected to create a home that feels elevated yet comfortable—where clean architectural lines are softened by organic textures, rich wood tones, and timeless craftsmanship.

At Sarah Hart Interior Design, we believe second homes should feel just as personal and intentional as a primary residence. Whether designing a ski home in Colorado, a waterfront retreat, or a coastal vacation home in Charleston, South Carolina, we create luxury interiors that reflect both the architecture of the home and the lifestyle of the people who gather there. From custom renovations to vacation homes and second residences, our goal is to design spaces that feel timeless, layered, and built to be enjoyed for years to come.
